This Guide recommends methods and practices for implementing changes in the classification of goods and services in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). It complements the CPI Manual by presenting detailed guidance and examples of good practices for implementing classification changes.

The Guide was prepared by a task team set up by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Steering Group on Consumer Price Indices.
