The publication was prepared by the Statistics and Data Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). It draws primarily on the results of the 2023 survey on national practices in the 2020 census round, as well as on the thematic summaries produced by the UNECE Steering Group on Population and Housing Censuses and the thirteen task forces that developed the Conference of European Statisticians Recommendations for the 2030 Round of Population and Housing Censuses. The publication also benefits from supplementary materials and information provided by national statistical offices or otherwise available to UNECE.
